A Juxtaposition - New Colours & Yarns
AUTUMN / WINTER 24-25
Inspiration
AW/24-25 is a juxtaposition of new and energised alongside old and revitalised, a mindset we embrace wholeheartedly at Todd & Duncan.
Our ethos is not only to create new but to continually review, rework and update colours and yarns across the collection, enabling the best to come to fruition, giving greater choice and flexibility to designers.
The details
ARTWORKS - A touch of Scottish history spurred us on this season with inspiration from ‘The Great Tapestry of Scotland. Completed in 2013, it is 160 tapestry panels made by over 1,000 stitchers in Scotland.
The parallels to our own history are clear, and with this in mind we zoomed in on the landscape, seascape, skyscape tapestries, alongside others expressing these visual references through an edit of colours and inspired knits.
COLOUR – This season we look at new colours that are less seasonally tied, allowing for a broader reach internationally and throughout the year. The new colours are integrated with the essentials and classics, every colour earning it’s spot within the collection.
TEXTURES – The links between tapestry and knit is unrivalled and offers a myriad of ideas to develop and play with. Knit structures we focus on are small repeat embroidery stitches developed into plain and purl stitches creating unique structures and patterns across yarn weights and knit gauges.
Favourites
NEW - CASHMERE COLOURS
The new colours for winter are an eclectic group, each with a specific role to play within our extensive colour palette. They are distilled down to the most important & influential that revitalise well-known colours we all love.
Each colour acts as a new highlight amongst longstanding classics in the main palette, and the Denim and Summer melange colours get a tonal lift too.
A few favourites to look out for: Puffling, Cinder, St Kilda, Rockstar and Plum.
